U.S. Representative John Kline Honored with Goodwill® Policymaker Award

WASHINGTON, DC – Goodwill Industries International recently honored U.S. Rep. John Kline (R-MN) with a 2015 Goodwill Policymaker Award for his commitment to advancing Goodwill’s mission of helping people build careers and gain employment. The award was presented on Tuesday, April 14 during a reception in Washington, DC, as part of Goodwill’s annual advocacy event.
Congressman Kline serves as the chairman of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. He was nominated by Goodwill/Easter Seals Minnesota (St. Paul) for his efforts in brokering a compromise that resulted in the passage of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
“Chairman Kline deserves recognition for his leadership on workforce issues,” said Michael Wirth-Davis, president and CEO of Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota. “The people Goodwill serves depend on strong voices in the halls of government. We commend the chairman for helping pass legislation that can help so many who need assistance to achieve their career goals.”
