Goodwill Spokesperson Evette Rios Launches New CBS TV Show; Obtains Wardrobe Exclusively from Goodwill

ROCKVILLE, MD – Goodwill Spokesperson Evette Rios is the host of the new CBS television program “Recipe Rehab.” Each week, she helps American families make over high-calorie family recipes through a challenge that promotes the use of healthy food choices. The bilingual lifestyle expert is an avid Goodwill shopper and relies heavily on second-hand items for her home décor creations. Rios, who has been a Goodwill spokesperson and blogger since 2012, obtained her entire wardrobe for “Recipe Rehab” from Goodwill stores in California, where the pilot was shot.
“I know that I can find great clothes at affordable prices when I shop at Goodwill,” said Rios. “And I can feel good about supporting job training and placement programs for people with disabilities and disadvantages.”
Rios is helping to connect the Hispanic community to Goodwill and serves as a blogger and online ambassador, highlighting ways she has found to repurpose gently used items as home décor. She writes monthly blog entries that appear in both English and Spanish on Goodwill’s website, goodwill.org.
“The fastest-growing segment of Goodwill’s shoppers and program participants are Hispanic, and Evette is playing an important role in expanding our message of environmental conservation to this community,” said Jim Gibbons, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries International. “We are delighted that she walks the walk, and we’re excited to see what she picked out at Goodwill for her new show.”
“Recipe Rehab” premiers on CBS at 10:00 a.m. ET, Saturday, September 28, 2013. For more details, visit www.cbspressexpress.com/cbs-entertainment/releases/view?id=36650
