They’ve weathered war and devastation and seen the face of death. But many veterans face yet another battle when they return home from active duty to civilian life: finding employment. While struggling to join the workforce, veterans often must deal with other issues, including emotional stress and family financial obligations. Sometimes these stresses lead to depression and substance abuse.

Bon-Ton's Goodwill Sale Event Collects More Than Five Million Items

Customers and associates of The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. donated approximately 5.2 million gently used clothing and home textile items during its semi-annual Goodwill® Sale event, which was held September 16 – 30. The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc., comprised of Bon-Ton, Bergner’s, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman, Herberger’s, Younkers and Parisian stores, received donations at its 279 stores. Goodwill will sell the donations in the communities where they were collected, and the revenues will go to support job training to assist individuals in achieving economic stability.

Levi's® and Goodwill Partner to Launch a “Care Tag for Our Planet”

Levi Strauss & Co. and Goodwill® today announced "A Care Tag for Our Planet", a new initiative that aims to put billions of pounds of unwanted clothing to good use instead of into landfills. Beginning in January 2010, the Levi's® brand will be the first major retailer to include messaging on product care tags that encourages people to donate unwanted clothing.

Goodwill Awarded $19 Million to Mentor Youth

Goodwill Industries International has been awarded $19.1 million by the U.S. Department of Justice for mentoring services to help youth develop and deploy career plans.
