Rockville, MD. – Goodwill Industries International is pleased to honor Congressman Norm Dicks (D–WA) as a recipient of its Goodwill® Policymaker Leaders Award for 2010.
The award recognizes a federal policymaker who has clearly demonstrated support for Goodwill’s public policy priorities.
Rep. Dicks was nominated by Tacoma Goodwill Industries for his ongoing support of Goodwill, including assistance in securing HUD Economic Initiative Funds for the agency’s Milgard Work Opportunity Center.
“Over the past five years, we have deepened our relationship with Congressman Dicks,” said Terry Hayes, CEO of Tacoma Goodwill Industries. “It has grown from a casual awareness to a partnership, in which we consistently maintain effective lines of communication.”
At a reception in Washington, DC, on Tuesday, April 27, Rep. Dicks was thanked for his ongoing concern for issues relevant to Goodwill. The reception was part of Goodwill Industries International’s fourth Advocacy Day — “Invest in the American Worker.”
