Florida Exec Develops Program to Build Goodwill® Agency Capacity

Goodwill Industries International Honors Bob Rosinsky with Mission Advancement Award

Sarasota, FL — Bob Rosinsky, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries Manasota, Inc., is being honored by Goodwill Industries International for developing a consulting program that provides education, training and mentoring services to help other Goodwill® agencies enhance their retail/donated goods businesses and fund critical mission services. Rosinsky will receive the Robert E. and Charlotte Watkins Award for Excellence in Mission Advancement at Goodwill’s annual Delegate Assembly in June.
Rosinsky has served the Goodwill enterprise for more than 41 years in various capacities. While chief operating officer at Goodwill Manasota, he was the driving force to develop the programs that defined Mission Development Services (MDS) in 1996. MDS is a successful model for helping Goodwills improve their mission-integrated donated goods enterprise and expand their current territory to create more growth, jobs and margin. MDS includes a donated goods management program, organizational development, a retail management program, core leadership training, advanced leadership training, new store set-up training, strategic real estate research, and more. As part of the retail training, Goodwill Manasota offers Goodwill U®, an online curriculum for Goodwills to further their training and development. Rosinsky has also been involved in the development of WESA (Web Enabled Statistical Analysis), a database program that interfaces with point-of-sale systems and tracks everything a Goodwill needs to know about their donations, sales, donor value, labor and transaction values.
“Robert and Charlotte Watkins endowed an award to honor innovation among Goodwills – innovations that can ultimately benefit the entire enterprise,” said Jim Gibbons, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries International. “Bob embodies the spirit of the award and his work continues to impact the broader Goodwill network on a daily basis.”
Future plans include an international training center complete with a computer learning lab and fully integrated point-of-sale system. The goal of the new training center is to educate Goodwill team members from across the U.S., international Goodwill affiliates and other countries interested in the Goodwill model.
