Detroit Job Seekers 'Get on the Bus' to Work with Goodwill's Help

Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit is helping individuals throughout Metro Detroit overcome transportation-related employment challenges during the 4th consecutive year of its “Get on the Bus” campaign, taking place this month. Every $20 collected during the campaign enables a program participant to ride the bus to or from work, interviews or job training for at least a week. Donations also go towards providing aid to individuals in need of other employment-related transportation assistance, including gas cards and automobile repairs.

Goodwill ‘Undy 500’ Motorcycle Ride Benefits Homeless Veterans

Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina hosted its 3rd Annual Undy 500 Motorcycle Charity Ride in September to raise awareness and funding for events and programs for local homeless veterans. Two hundred twenty-five riders donated more than 2,100 new undergarments to be distributed to veterans at the Annual Stand Down against Homelessness. More than $6,800 was raised in support of local veterans.

Goodwill® Reflects on Spirit of Service Following September 11 Attacks

All Americans remember where they were on September 11, 2001. It was a sad and frightening day that left many of us feeling vulnerable and unsure of our safety as Americans. Despite the shock and the sorrow, we refused to let the attacks weaken our great nation. We emerged from that day with a renewed commitment to one another, united with a common goal to help strengthen our communities and our country. This weekend, we reflect on how the Goodwill enterprise rallied to support workers and employers in the wake of the tragedy, and how that spirit of service continues 10 years after the attacks.
