Join Us for the 2018 Goodwill Virtual Advocacy Day

On Thursday April 19, Goodwill Supporters from across the United States will travel to Capitol Hill to advocate for the issues that matter most to local Goodwill organizations. For those who are unable to travel to D.C., Goodwill Industries International (GII) will be hosting our 2018 Virtual Advocacy Day. In today’s social media driven world, virtual advocacy is becoming a powerful tool to communicate with our elected officials. According to the Congressional Management Foundation, 98% of lawmakers view this communication as extremely important and effective.
On this day, we will call on all Goodwill Advocates to send messages to Congress, either through a letter or a social media post, about important issues and to support our colleagues advocating in person. Our Advocates will be asking Congress to protect funding for workforce development and job training programs, to expand charitable giving incentives, and to reauthorize the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program.
During this event, Goodwill Advocates will be asking Congress online and in person to protect funding for workforce development and job training programs, to expand charitable giving incentives, and to reauthorize the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program.
Every voice matters and we invite you to TAKE ACTION this day. Resources will be provided through the Goodwill Legislative Action Center and online to help everyone get out our message. RSVP today at the Facebook event page here.
We look forward to all the online advocacy from our passionate Goodwill Advocates. Stay tuned for more information and resources on these important issues. Make sure to follow us @GoodwillCapHill and get ready for #GoodwillOnHIll!
