My Story: Lew Davis

Smiling man with glasses reaching into a shopping cart in a grocery store aisle lined with cereal boxes.

My name is Lew Davis and I have been associated with Goodwill of Monocacy Valley (Frederick, MD) for a little over a year. I came to Goodwill to receive assistance in finding a job within the community.

Prior to coming to Goodwill, I was struggling with intellectual and learning disabilities and dealing with my father’s illness. I am a very shy person and it takes me awhile to open up to people.

Since I started working at the commissary, I have made new friends and enjoy going to work! My boss helped me a lot when my dad died and has been very supportive of me during this difficult time. I know that I have made my dad proud of me.
