Goodwill® Is Going to the Hill!

U.S. Capitol BuildingGoodwill Industries International, Inc. (GII) is looking forward to conducting its sixth annual Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill on Tuesday, April 17.  As Congress considers what can be accomplished before the elections, GII is working to ensure that our elected leaders recognize the resources that Goodwill’s enterprise, comprised of 158 community-based organizations, brings to the table.

Among the issues likely to be covered during Hill visits include:

•    Funding programs of importance to the Goodwill enterprise and the people we serve;
•    Reauthorizing the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), including the Rehabilitation Act;
•    Reauthorizing Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF); and
•    Reauthorizing the Older Americans Act (OAA), including the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP)

While stakeholders such as Goodwill executives, board members, staff and program participants will be conducting in-person meetings with Members of Congress and staff, we hope that supporters like you will take part in our Virtual Advocacy Day. The GII Legislative Action Center allows you to have a voice, and with one click of a button you can contact your Member of Congress.  Stay tuned for further details and information about how you can be a part of our Virtual Advocacy Day!
