For a few years, I had an hour and a half commute home from work, though most of my social life was in neighborhoods right around my office. After living like that for a bit, I began to master the day-to-night look knowing I would likely not be changing my clothes before leaving the office.

One of my first finds at my go-to Goodwill store was this tweed houndstooth J. Crew blazer with gold detailing. It was priced at $17 and was such a steal compared to the retail price of close to $150.

This staple is a must-have for your fall date night outfits. When the first chilly morning hits I know I immediately become less inclined to reach for a dress or skirt in the morning.
