Easter Basket

With Easter coming right around the corner, it’s time to think about the little details that can help make the holiday extra special. Whether you’re hosting this year and planning a pretty tablescape is on your mind, or if you’re preparing special treats from the Easter Bunny, or if you’re just looking to brighten up your home for spring – there’s something waiting for you at your local Goodwill store.

Especially when it comes to holidays, shopping second-hand is a great way to be sustainable by reducing retail store demand for seasonally themed items and decor. Not only is it better for the Earth to thrift these types of items, and keep them out of landfills, but it’s also more budget-friendly because you’ll be able to find what you need for just a small fraction of retail price. Everything you purchase at Goodwill brings all of the proceeds back to the local community too, making every dollar you spend go even further with those who need it.

If you’re thinking about how to make your Easter holiday even more special this year, check out some ideas from real Goodwill shoppers from all around the country.

Whimsical Tablescape

Nothing says springtime better than a pretty pink tablescape with vintage dishware. This Goodwill shopper found these amazing checkered bowls and dishes with cute springtime animal scenes. Adding them to the table with feminine gold candlesticks with long candles adorned with pink ribbons tied into bows. With a nice flower centerpiece, this tablescape is both welcoming and whimsical.

Easter Bunny Baskets

Waking up on Easter morning is a special time for kids anticipating the Easter Bunny. These little gifts don’t need to break the bank though. You can find fun toys and cute books at your local Goodwill store. Oftentimes you may even come across some items that are still new in packaging, never used! I’ve found everything from Easter eggs to Easter grass at my local Goodwill stores. I was excited to see this Goodwill shopper above found the same at hers!

Easter Elegance

There’s no better reason to dress things up than when celebrating a holiday. Life can become so casual, with leggings and sneakers becoming the norm and more of the formalities that previous generations grew up with being a thing of the past. It’s nice to tap into some of that elegance though for special occasions. These don’t have to break the bank either. I am so in love with the easy DIY this Goodwill shopper made above- the beautiful crystal candlestick glued onto a glass made this homemade vase the most gorgeous home for springtime tulips! It’s the little details like this that can really elevate a holiday, or even just bring a burst of springtime lightness into your home throughout the season.
