Thrifted Outfit Inspiration to Make Fall Activities as Sweet as Pumpkin Spice

We’re in full swing of fall, and the leaves are just starting to change. There are so many seasonal activities on the list to check off before the weather gets colder. From apple picking and hayrides at the pumpkin patch to nestling into a booth at your favorite coffee shop with a good book, you can find the perfect secondhand outfit at Goodwill^® to make your day sweeter than pumpkin spice.

The changing seasons always mark some of the best times to stop at your local Goodwill store, not only to donate items from the previous season that you no longer need or don’t feel like storing for the next year, but also to shop all the other amazing donations people have started dropping off. I’ve found some of my favorite sweaters at Goodwill. Think lush fabrics like super soft cashmere (for around $10!) and incredible designers that you might usually find at a store like Bloomingdale’s, such as Vince, alice + olivia and Cinq à Sept.

When you walk into your local Goodwill, the options are endless as you browse the racks and shelves for incredible new-to-you finds. It always feels good to shop secondhand because it’s better for the environment, and shopping at a nonprofit like Goodwill also supports the local community through free education and job training programs in fields like IT, healthcare and clean tech. Some amazing finds that I came across on my last trip to Goodwill are above! I styled them into outfits that can work for any activity that might be on your fall bucket list.

This cream short-sleeve cable-knit sweater is trending this fall, and the loose sides mean you can layer long sleeves under it too for chilly days or nights. This sweater, paired with the plaid miniskirt above, is also trending, along with all things literary chic and preppy. Pair the two together with a pair of sheer black tights and leather or suede booties, and you’re ready to get swept up in fun fall adventures. You can also dress this outfit up or down with a blazer or leather jacket, making it the perfect day-to-night look as well!
