High Heart, High Tech, and a Historic Setting

Award Winners DA 2026

There could not have been a more fitting place for Goodwill® leaders to gather than Philadelphia, the birthplace of American democracy, as the nation begins commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. Against the backdrop of the semiquincentennial celebration, more than 400 Goodwill leaders, board members, and partners came together for the 2026 Delegate Assembly to reflect on our shared heritage and envision the future of the Goodwill movement. The conference theme, “High Heart & High Tech: From Heritage to Horizon,” perfectly captured that balance of honoring our legacy while embracing innovation and change.

Throughout the week, delegates participated in conversations on leadership, workforce trends, technology, mission impact, governance, and the future of the network. The Assembly also provided opportunities to connect with peers, share promising practices, and help shape Goodwill’s path forward.

One of the most inspiring moments of the gathering was the Shining Stars Banquet, where Goodwill Industries International recognized three individuals who overcame significant challenges to achieve meaningful employment with support from their local Goodwill organizations. Congratulations to this year’s honorees:

Their achievements remind us why Goodwill’s mission matters. Behind every success story is a person who found opportunity, built confidence, gained skills, and took an important step toward a brighter future. Their journeys reflect the impact made every day by local Goodwill organizations, staff, volunteers, donors, and advocates across the network.

As Delegate Assembly concluded, attendees left Philadelphia energized by new ideas, strengthened partnerships, and a renewed commitment to Goodwill’s mission. Just as America’s founders looked to the future nearly 250 years ago, Goodwill leaders gathered in Philadelphia to help shape the next chapter of opportunity, innovation, and impact.

Goodwill’s future will be shaped by both innovation and purpose. From exploring emerging technologies to strengthening governance and advancing workforce solutions, leaders across the network demonstrated a shared commitment to meeting the needs of the people and communities we serve.

For advocates, donors, and supporters, Delegate Assembly is a reminder that Goodwill is more than a collection of local organizations. It is a powerful network united by a common mission: helping people achieve independence, dignity, and opportunity through the power of work.
