My Story: Sean Cordasco

Thanks To You, I Have A JOB!
I’ve had a long history with Goodwill and plan to keep it that way.  I was referred to Goodwill Industries of Southern New jersey & Philadelphia by the New Jersey Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) in 2011 where I became an extended employee at Goodwill’s Outsourcing & Production Fulfillment Center. While working there, I received job coaching and professional development services from a staff of rehabilitation specialists.  Soon, I was ready to spread my wings and fly into the competitive job market and was hired as a material handler at their Operations Center.
I quickly became known as a “jack of all trades” and I put my skills into action working in the Salvage and E-Books Departments. Most recently, I took on another exciting assignment.  I started working in Goodwill’s Home Medical Equipment warehouse where I help with the sanitization and refurbishment of durable medical equipment—items that become true life changers for the people who buy them.
Goodwill is a great company to work for and they have great people onboard. I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else—Goodwill all the way!
“Sean was a highly motivated , hardworking young man. While in the Extended Employment Program Sean achieved all his set goals, preparing him for supported / competitive employment. His commitment and dedication were evident in his involvement in Goodwill. He wanted to be part of the Goodwill team and work in one of our warehouses. While in the E.E. program Sean achieved a forklift certification to enhance his resume and overall marketable skills. Sean’s determination, motivation and own initiative were recognized and he was hired as an employee at our warehouse on Benigno in April 2014. In my personal interactions with Sean I have been impressed by his ability to establish a comfortable rapport with others. Sean comes across as a confident, hardworking young man, This is a true testament to both his interpersonal skills and loyalty to his job.” says Goodwill Employment Specialist Richard Choate.
