My Story: Samantha Lawhorne

Diverse group of six workers wearing safety vests posing in front of a loading dock.

At the age of 23, I started working for Goodwill Serving the Communities of Hampton Roads and Central Virginia.

Before I came to Goodwill, I had no work experience. Goodwill has taught me how to be a team player. I now know how to work with my peers to get the job done.

Goodwill has also taught me to take pride in my work. I love going to work because I like showing my independence and work skills. I love seeing my friends.

I have learned a number of skills while working for Goodwill. One skill that I have learned is to hang clothes, a skill I use now at home. Other skills I have learned is how to sort colors and group colors.

I love working for Goodwill.
