Did you know that your New Year’s Eve outfit can reflect something much deeper this year?
Each year brings new blessings and, sometimes, new trials, too. As we wrap up the end of one year, reflecting on all that’s happened is so important. It can help us understand what went right, what went wrong and what we want to change for the upcoming year. Reflections and resolutions can provide a nice roadmap to making each year better than the previous one, but there’s also something to be said for the power of positivity as you head into the new year. I think that’s why, traditionally, we bring sparkles and glitter into the picture for New Year’s Eve, to celebrate the exciting and bright possibilities to come!
My personal style typically dictates that I dress comfortably, with a little bit of sparkle. I bring some shine into all my outfits, which makes me all the more excited to equate this with optimism, positivity and openness. Whether you’re looking to make a change or to attract your best year yet, sparkles can be the way to go when dressing to ring in the new year.
Where to Find Your New Year’s Eve Outfit
The best part is that sequins and glitter don’t need to come at designer retail prices or a messy DIY project. You can just as easily head into your local Goodwill® store and find something fun that completes your look. This is especially true for statement pieces, because some people may only wear them once, snap a photo and then donate them for the next person to do the same. Not only is this a more eco-friendly way of shopping, but it also can be more affordable when you find items for just a fraction of what they’d cost in a regular retail store.
On my latest trip to Goodwill, I took a look through the racks to see what I could find to attract an amazing 2025. Check out some of my finds below!
- Rebecca Taylor Silver Glitter Dress
It’s always a good day when I come across Rebecca Taylor at Goodwill! This store had this perfect New Year’s Eve dress featured on a special designer rack. When it normally retails at $325, $29.99 at Goodwill isn’t so bad. This is a statement dress with a flattering high neck and drop waist that goes into a skater skirt. Pair this with sheer black tights and heels, and you’re set to kick off the new year on the right foot.
- Shimmery Crop Tops
A night out at the bar or club might be on your calendar this year, which means your New Year’s Eve outfit can get even more creative. These two tops bring the shimmer and shine to any party. I love the bra top with an open back and how the high neck top contrasts with its petite length. Pair either with a high-waisted skirt or black jeans and your favorite good luck hairstyle.
- Sparkling Black Tie
Elevate your New Year’s Eve with a little extra glamor. Black tie parties to say goodbye to one year and hello to the next are popular, but that doesn’t mean you need to break the bank on your attire. Check out the racks at Goodwill to find the perfect sequin gown, like this one, which comes with an even more attractive price tag of $14.99. Get thrifty and save your funds for that bucket list trip next year that finally committing to taking.
