Color Crush: Millennial Pink

Before it was deemed “Millennial Pink” the soft rosy shade I’m currently crushing on (and one of Pantone’s top colors for 2017) was a top choice for pop culture icons such as the Pink Panther, Lisa Loeb, the Pink Ladies from Grease, and, of course, P!nk the musician. It’s always been a great color, but this year it seems to be enjoying fame more than ever before so let’s travel around the internet to track down a few thrifted finds in this perfect peachy shade.

Goodwill Industries of North Central Wisconsin, Inc. (Menasha) recently did a roundup of handbags that are perfect for every occasion this summer. Their big tip? Skip the plain colors and go for a trendy tint like…you guessed it: millennial pink. It’s a sweet summery look that will brighten up everyday attire. This thrifted clutch in particular is a fantastic find because at only $2.99, it can corral all of your night-out necessities then slip easily into a beach bag during the day. Blogger Lee over at Lee Thrifts is also currently loving millennial pink. One of her favorite tops is a comfy, blush-colored thrifted blouse which is especially great for wearing to work. Maybe the most surprising thing about it, she notes, is that unlike some shades, this particular pink doesn’t feel childish or even girly. What’s even better than millennial pink? Millennial pink accented with gold. I’ve seen painted globes before, but never as eye-catching as this one shared by Goodwill Industries of Kanawha Valley, Inc. (Charleston, WV) on their DIY Goodwill Favorites pinboard. How easy would it be to find at tired old globe at Goodwill, slap on a fresh coat of paint, then add a sweet phrase with a shimmering paint pen to top it all off? Give it to a globe-trotting friend or keep it at home to inspire you! Maybe whenever you see it you’ll remember all of the people that your thrift-store purchase helped to support.
