When I was young, my parents were plagued by addiction and I had to live with my grandparents. I was 17 years old and was working for my grandfather’s landscaping company until I became a father. Unfortunately, I acted immaturely and decided to supplement my income with drug dealing. From 1999 to 2008, I was

Simple Summer Top DIY
Summer is such a fun time for fashion. You can get playful with your style by including cute patterns, textures, and colors in the clothing and accessories you wear and somehow it seems really natural. I’ve been especially loving all of the bell sleeves and fun trim ideas that I’m seeing in boutique stores these days (or, let’s be honest…in online stores), but I realized that the things I love most about these pieces are the embellishments. Goodwill Industries International (GII) joins with these kids across the country to recognize the important role fatherhood can have in the lives of a young child and we also recognize the work that organizations nationwide are doing to help struggling fathers gain the job skills and stability they need to support their children and families.
Father’s Day Finds That Won’t Fail
What do ties, golf clubs, and a six-pack all have in common? While they’re each nice (and surely appreciated) Father’s Day gifts, they’re also the type of present that you can really only give once. Giving the same type of gift every year will seem uninspired and won’t accurately reflect the way you feel about dear ol’ Dad. So, if you’re feeling stuck in a run-of-the-mill Father’s Day gift rut and are ready for some fresh ideas, we’ve got a whole slew of possibilities for you in this blog post—and at your closest Goodwill store!
Resume Do’s and Don’ts (Part 1 of 2)
Many books have been written about writing that “great” resume. And most books offer some valuable – and differing - ideas. Who do you believe? I’m not here to write another book, but today and in my next blog I’ll share some key points I think most resume “experts” would agree are best practices.
