While Goodwill can help you connect to volunteer opportunities at a variety of organizations in your area, you may also choose to volunteer directly at one of our career centers, retail stores or other locations.

Goodwill Industries is comprised of more than 150 independent www.goodwill.organzations in the United States and Canada, and our volunteerism opportunities are as diverse as our Goodwills! You’ll need to get in touch with your local Goodwill to find out about specific opportunities available in your area, but here’s an overview of the types of work that volunteers often perform:

  • Instruction: Teaching a computer class, life skills seminar or résumé workshop
  • Mentoring: Acting as a mentor to a young person or adult in need of support
  • Tutoring: Helping individuals succeed in academic classes or prepare to take the GED
  • Fundraising: Assisting with fundraising drives and events
  • Retail: Providing customer service, stocking shelves and working as a handyman
  • Production: Sorting donations, assembling furniture, researching and pricing donations
  • Donations: Delivering customer service, receiving donations or holding a donation drive
