The Senate will soon bring up S. 192, the Older Americans Act (OAA), for a vote.  If you have already contacted your senators we thank you. You’ve helped to move this key legislation for America’s lowest income seniors. If not, Goodwill supports this bipartisan legislation and we urge you to take just a couple of minutes to ask your senators to support S. 192.

Millions of Americans have struggled since the Great Recession and while the recovery has helped many, too many have been left behind.  We can help fix that by passing the S. 192, legislation that provides important nutrition, elder abuse prevention, employment and other important services for America’s seniors.

How does the OAA help seniors?  Well consider the employment provision, known as the Senior Community Service Employment Program or SCSEP.  In 2014 alone Goodwill SCSEP grantees helped seniors volunteer one million hours of service in their communities and seniors that Goodwill helped find work earned an average of $10 per hour and worked on average 30 hours per week.

So can we count on you to help us help them?  Just click the link below that best matches you, and in a less time than it takes to Google search for a video you can do your part help America’s seniors.
