Goodwill is my all-time favorite place to buy fabrics. Why? With a lot of really unique patterns and colors ranging from brand new to 50 years old or more, and still unused, the selection is remarkable! Plus, you can buy bulk yardage without paying the price for it. At fabric stores, it isn’t unheard of to pay nearly $10 a yard, but at Goodwill you can buy six or seven yards for less than $5.

I’ve always said, I’d fly back to Florida just to thrift — and the stores I went to only reinforced that statement. Yes, folks. It’s that good.

As Hurricane Isaac plows into the Gulf Coast, the Republican Convention in Tampa, Florida, has been underway, with the economy and jobs among the list of issues being addressed. The following is excerpted from the GOP platform and mirrors almost exactly the ideas by some Senate GOP members and GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
