Be an Advocate and Participate in Goodwill’s Virtual Advocacy Day!

On April 23rd, more than 100 leaders from local Goodwill organizations from across the United States are together on Capitol Hill, connecting with over 200 lawmakers and staff. Goodwill’s advocates are talking with lawmakers about workforce development system reforms and funding and Goodwill’s role in the circular economy. Most importantly, the Goodwill advocates are educating Congress about the role Goodwill plays in their local community. You can help support these efforts virtually by sending a message to your lawmakers as part of Goodwill’s Virtual Advocacy Day! Your voice matters and the thoughts you share with your lawmakers make a difference. Here are three things that you can do to participate in Goodwill’s virtual advocacy.

  • Send a Letter: Start off your virtual advocacy efforts by visiting Goodwill Industries International’s Legislative Action Center.  You can send your lawmakers a letter asking them to support Goodwill’s policy priorities.
  • Social Media Post: Use the power of social media (X(Twitter), LinkedIn, and Facebook) to message your lawmaker and ask them to support Goodwill. Follow the hashtag #GoodwillOnTheHill for messages you can re-share and re-tweet to your lawmaker.
  • Post a Selfie: You are the face of a Goodwill advocate! Share a picture online of you and tell the world why you advocate for Goodwill.

These are three simple ways you can participate in Goodwill’s virtual advocacy. We invite you to take at least one action today.

Every voice matters and virtual advocacy is one of the ways that you can make your voice heard. Thank you for your efforts today for being a Goodwill advocate!
