The remnants of Hurricane Harvey continue to bring heavy rain to residents of Texas and Louisiana. We know many have been forced to evacuate their homes due to unprecedented rain and flooding. We care about our local communities and are committed to working together to support those impacted by the storm.
Goodwill’s mission is to provide job placement services, onsite and virtual skills training, employment training and other community-based services, such as career counseling, industry-recognized credentials, résumé preparation, and many other services. Goodwill organizations provide these services to people in local communities by selling donations of used items in Goodwill stores.
Goodwill Industries of Houston, Goodwill Industries of South Texas (Corpus Christi, TX) and Goodwill Industries of Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana (Beaumont, TX) are currently assessing the damage to their headquarters locations, their career centers, stores and donation centers. In addition, they are also working to ensure their employees and the people who are receiving Goodwill services are safe and out of harm’s way. It will be several days before the full impact of the storm is known on Goodwills’ operations. Goodwill looks forward to working collaboratively to determine the most meaningful way to help our local communities.
