Lend Your Voice During Goodwill Industries® Week

It’s Goodwill Industries Week and this year we are celebrating mission moments, highlighting the many success stories of individuals who have received services from local Goodwill® organizations around the country. Goodwill Industries Week has taken place the first full week of May since 1951.  As part of the celebration Goodwill organizations around the United States and Canada will host career fairs, donation drives, and offer tours and conduct other celebratory events.  You can learn more about the events in your local community by visiting /week/

Our shoppers, donors, program participants, community partners and employers all help Goodwill fulfill its mission. Because of your contributions, we can continue providing the services that help people learn the skills to earn employment and build brighter futures. With your support, people are starting or advancing careers in fields such as retail, financial services, information technology and health care.

Advocates play an extremely important role in our work as well.  We need your voice to help educate lawmakers about the issues of concern to Goodwill and the communities which we serve.  Congress is beginning the work of formalizing the federal budget for Fiscal Year 2020, and lawmakers will be making decisions about funding levels for the important job training and workforce development programs.  With a few clicks of a button, you can send a pre-written note to your Representative and Senators via GII’s Legislative Action Center (Goodwill CEOs should click here to take action), and ask Congress to provide funding for critical programs which help many local Goodwills provide services in their communities.  You can also help amplify our message by following the GII government relations team on twitter @GoodwillCapHill and retweet their messages about the alert.

Your support helps us achieve our mission, not just during Goodwill Industries Week – but every day of every week.
