It’s been a long winter, hasn’t it? Punxsutawney Phil should really watch his back.
I don’t know about you, but I could use a few signs of spring. I’ve had it with all the Polar Vortices and their impending snow-doom warnings. And now that I’m on maternity leave and cooped up in the house for the better part of the day – well, let’s just say I needed a good dose of sunshine.
So I went on the hunt for some signs of spring last week at a Goodwill store in Virginia that I’d never visited. The racks of bright colors and rows of tank tops that greeted me cheered me up more than you can imagine. It was a great reminder that it won’t be too long until I can retire my fleeces and snow boots in favor of light jackets and swingy, spring dresses.
Are you itching for the great outdoors? Get in the spirit and snag a great tennis racquet, or a baseball themed tie to wear to spring training at Goodwill! Already planning your epic Fourth of July party and need some decorations? Head to – well, you know where.

After browsing a while and getting a good dose of thrift store sunshine, I left with a new shirt for my husband that will look perfect on him while he’s grilling out back, a cute cherry blossom patterned shirt for myself, and some brand new, bright pink ballet flats I can wear to skip along in the sunshine soon.
I left feeling like a new woman and Goodwill was all it took. If you’re weary of winter’s chill, too, take a trip to your local store and get a good dose of sunshine for yourself!
