The beauty of thrifting is that every Goodwill is different. You never know what you’ll find on the shelves or while browsing a rack. For the best chances of an epic thrifting haul, you’ll want to stop by more than one Goodwill.

    National Thrift Shop Day is celebrated on August 17th every year. It’s a day dedicated to thrifting, but particularly thrifting with nonprofits. Goodwill is a nonprofit organization, and we encourage you to find other nonprofit thrift stores in your area to support, too.

    As a nonprofit, Goodwill stores help fund free career training, educational opportunities or other support systems designed to ensure more people can find and maintain well-paid employment. That could include jobs in clean tech, IT, cybersecurity, skilled trades and more. Every Goodwill is operated locally to ensure programs are tailored to the community and local employer needs.
