Goodwill® Announces New Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel

Regina Nelson Joins Goodwill Industries International in January

ROCKVILLE, MD — Goodwill Industries International (GII) recently announced the appointment of Regina Nelson as its new chief legal officer and general counsel.

Nelson brings more than 25 years of legal and business experience to her new role, in which she will lead the GII legal and government affairs teams. Nelson will provide oversight on all legal and government affairs functions, lead enterprise risk management and corporate compliance, and provide legal advice and services to the GII executive team and board of directors.

“Regina is well known for her excellent legal counsel and strategic business acumen, and we are grateful for the wealth of experience she brings to Goodwill,” said Steven C. Preston, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries International. “Her deep knowledge in operational, transactional and regulatory affairs as well as her leadership and relationship building skills will benefit Goodwill and our network of 155 local nonprofit Goodwill organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada.”

Nelson most recently served as chief legal counsel, Europe, for Marriott International, Inc., in its London office. She led a team overseeing all legal matters across more than 600 hotels and served as a key advisor and member of the Marriott European executive team.

Nelson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Dowling College in Oakdale, NY, and a Juris Doctor degree from Boston College Law School in Newton, MA.
