Rockville, MD. – Goodwill Industries International is pleased to honor Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) as a recipient of its Goodwill® National Policymaker Award for 2010.
The award recognizes a federal policymaker who has clearly demonstrated support for Goodwill’s public policy priorities.
Senator Mikulski was nominated by Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake (Baltimore, MD) for her “close to 100 percent support of our 2009 policy priorities.”
“Senator Mikulski is a longstanding supporter of the Workforce Reinvestment Act,” said Marge Thomas, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake. “She has a highly commendable track record supporting legislation helpful to Goodwill agencies and the people we serve.”
At a reception in Washington, DC, on Tuesday, April 27, Sen. Mikulski was recognized and thanked for her ongoing concern for issues relevant to Goodwill. The reception was part of Goodwill Industries International’s fourth Advocacy Day — “Invest in the American Worker.”
