The Administration is gearing up to announce the expansion of apprenticeship programs across the country as it devotes this week to workforce development. While it is encouraging that the administration has a favorable view of apprenticeships, questions remain about funding such an initiative and service providers like Goodwill® are concerned about further cuts to the workforce system including those in the President’s proposed FY18 budget as previously reported.

Americans are generous and charitable in nature – in fact, one in ten Americans even works for a nonprofit - but tax incentives are important to how much they give. Last year, Americans gave nearly $370 billion to charitable organizations. However, this may all change soon.
The Administration released their skinny budget, known as “America First Budget” in mid-March, which was a rough outline of his spending priorities, and included $54 billion in cuts to over 60 programs. Now, we are hearing more details about the proposed cuts from the Administration in, “A New Foundation for American Greatness” which was released on May 23, 2017.
