Goodwill Industries of San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin Counties (CA) celebrated Earth Day at San Francisco State University (SFSU) this year by mending donated Levi’s jeans. Last week, the SFSU community had the chance to purchase unworn jeans used during the design review process as part of the first Levi’s Mendables sale.

In Phoenix, Goodwill® Opens Two New Career Centers at Local Community College Campuses

This past February, Goodwill of Central Arizona (Phoenix) celebrated the grand openings of two Goodwill career centers on-site at Maricopa Skill Center’s (MSC) two Phoenix area campuses. These are the first Goodwill Career Center locations to open on-site at a community college. The career centers were opened to build upon services currently offered to MSC students as well as to support career exploration for members of the community who are seeking employment.

In PA, Goodwill Collaborates with Local Camera Club for Youth Mentorship

Goodwill Industries of the Conemaugh Valley (Johnstown, PA) recently partnered with the Greater Johnstown Camera Club to provide teens a creative outlet through the GoodGuides youth mentoring program. An opening reception on March 11 celebrated the collaboration. The students’ work is also showcased in a photo exhibition entitled “Through My Eyes,” which is on display at the Community Arts Center of Cambria County.

Little Rock Goodwill Assists Residents with Health Care Enrollment

Goodwill Industries of Arkansas (Little Rock) is offering Arkansans who qualify the opportunity to enroll in free or low-cost health insurance plans at select area Goodwill retail stores. Every Dress Has a Story in Local Goodwill®, Girl Scouts Partnership

On October 28, Goodwill Industries of Greater Grand Rapids (MI) and Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore launched Every Dress Has a Story!, a fashion-forward dress drive. The two organizations have partnered to collect gently used dresses from the community to assist the Grand Rapids Goodwill in its mission of providing job training and placement services to area residents. While donors can bring a dress to any Grand Rapids area Goodwill store, members of the community can also host donation bins at their places of business or community centers. Bins can be delivered and picked up by the agency’s staff.
