With farmer’s market season just beginning, I’ve got flowers, produce, breads, and a host of other market-fresh goodies on my mind. Strolling through a park ripe with crates of colorful fruit and hand-scrawled price signs atop gingham picnic cloths is just how I want to spend my weekend mornings. So, for today’s post, I’ve tried to channel that mood. Here are a few of my favorite farm-fresh Goodwill® finds
Lend Your Voice During Goodwill Industries® Week
Goodwill Industries Week is May 6-May 12 and this year we are “Celebrating Our Communities”, highlighting the many ways in which we support, and are supported by, the communities in which we exist. Creating Margins in Your Life
How many times have you seen a driver speed through a red light? Or heard someone say, “I hope I can make it to pay day.” Or maybe your child puts off their homework until bedtime. Our fast paced lives are packed with places to be, things to do, bills to pay, etc. Is there a way to change that feeling of barely keeping up? Maybe, just maybe, we can learn to create margins in life. A margin could be time, space, money, or anything that relieves us of making reactionary, short term decisions out of necessity.
A Thrifty Springtime Room Refresh
All winter I look forward to opening the windows when spring arrives so I can feel that first fresh breeze blow through. Getting to “Yea” on SNAP E&T in Congress
If you’ve seen the news lately, you might have heard about the Farm Bill currently in Congress. Meanwhile on the Senate side, lawmakers are still in discussion about what their proposal will entail. Many in workforce development are paying attention. Why? Because the next Farm Bill may significantly change the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment and Training provisions (SNAP E&T).

It’s halfway to Halloween-- ix months after last year’s Halloween and six months before this year’s. To help you get in the holiday spirit and celebrate the warmer weather, here are a few of our favorite ideas from Mr. and Mrs. Halloween.
The Most Difficult Interview Question – And How to Handle It
Interviewing can be a nerve wracking time. Much like a first date, if you don’t say and do the right things, there likely won’t be a second opportunity. Studies have shown the most difficult interview question to be, unfortunately, the one typically asked first: Tell me about yourself. Great. Just great. The toughest question at the beginning. Yet you needn’t let it worry you. Today I’ll offer a strategy for handling that question to get your interview off to a positive start.

Spring 2018 Fashion Forecast
I recently shared my adventure shopping at Goodwill for my favorite spring 2018 style trend; ice cream hues! It was so fun to really dive into finding, mixing, and matching dusty pastel tones, but I wanted to come back again to cover some of the other trends that you’ll be seeing around in the next few months. You know, just in case pale colors aren’t for you. The wonderful thing about all of this season’s trends is that they each throw-back to other decades which makes it easy for you to shop for them second-hand! Here’s what you can look forward to seeing on the style savvy this spring…
