International Workers' Day, also known as Labor Day or May Day, is celebrated on May 1st each year. It honors the contributions and achievements of workers and the labor movement, advocating for workers' rights and fair working conditions globally. As the largest workforce development nonprofit in North America, this day gives us a moment to celebrate the workers who have transformed their lives with support from Goodwill®.
On May 1st 130 leaders from local Goodwill organizations from across the United States are together on Capitol Hill, connecting with nearly 300 lawmakers and staff. Goodwill's advocates are talking with lawmakers about workforce development system reforms and funding, the impact of tax policies on nonprofits and Goodwill's role in textile recycling. You can help support these efforts virtually by sending a message to your lawmakers as part of Goodwill’s Virtual Advocacy Day!
