There’s a “pool committee” in my community comprised of a group of volunteers who conduct rigorous cleanings of the pool and patio furniture so residents can enjoy it over the summer. The chair of the committee makes a loud declaration whenever new people enter the gates and reminds them of the pool rules regarding limited capacity, etc. He begins every announcement by stating, “There’s still a pandemic going on.” As Congress continues to engage in partisan politics, they could benefit from this reminder.

In Kentucky, Goodwill Partners to Help People Reintegrate into the Workforce

Goodwill Industries of Kentucky and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield have announced a partnership to launch Pikeville’s Reintegrating Individuals Successfully Every Day (RISE) program, a job-readiness training program aimed at connecting low-income Kentuckians with resources to find and sustain employment.

In Sarasota, FL, United Way Invests in Goodwill’s GoodPartner Coach Program

Goodwill Manasota recently received a grant of $50,000 in Community Investment funding from United Way Suncoast, designated for its GoodPartner Coach Financial Literacy program. The United Way funding will support efforts to provide Goodwill employees with one-on-one job training, coaching, life and career goal-setting, and financial literacy services.
