Recently a friend and I were chatting about the lost art of mixtapes. Remember those? To me, they felt like the DIY way of being a DJ. A way of exchanging musical love notes. A time-intensive gift created as a way to bring someone else into your world, letting them feel the same feelings.

According to the World Health Organization, 13 million deaths annually and nearly a quarter of all diseases worldwide are due to environmental causes that could be avoided or prevented. One of the most effective ways to protect the planet is by donating and repurposing items instead of throwing them away and creating waste. Last year alone, local Goodwill organizations kept nearly 4 billion pounds of items out of landfills through the sale of donated goods and sustainability programs.
With ever-changing technology, it’s nearly impossible to write about its impact on the job search without that information becoming outdated in a matter of months. One part of the technology arena is getting more and more attention: artificial intelligence (AI), has – and will continue to - change how we live our lives and conduct business.
It’s finally turning into that season where you leave work most days and the sun is still out. Where you can walk around outside in the middle of the day and find yourself squinting at the sun shining down on you. Now that the snowstorms have finally come to an end and flowers are starting to bloom, love is certainly back in the warm springtime air!
April is Second Chance Month, a time to raise awareness of the challenges facing people exiting the justice system and to spotlight the important work being done to empower these individuals to successfully reenter their communities, including programs and services offered by local Goodwill® agencies across the country.
Just about everyone I know is, in some way, striving to become more eco-conscious (yay!). But at times the whole process can seem overwhelming.
