Finding Good During the Pandemic

Goodwill® has always been on the frontlines of helping people grow their skills, find new jobs and build their careers throughout our 118-year history. As the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic forced nearly all Goodwill organizations to temporarily close retail locations and other facilities, many have formed partnerships at the local level to respond to the crisis and help people get much-needed resources.

Lend Your Voice During Goodwill Week

Goodwill® Week has taken place the first full week of May since 1951. In years past, local Goodwill organizations around the United States and Canada would host career fairs, donation drives, tours of their facilities and services, and other community-wide events to commemorate the week. While it is understandably difficult to celebrate during this time of crisis, it’s important to highlight the contributions that Goodwill and other charitable nonprofits continue to make in their communities.

Goodwill KYOWVA Hosts Huntington’s Annual Sustainability Fair to Expand Interest and Knowledge Around Sustainability in the Community

The goal of the Huntington Sustainability Fair Project is to support a vibrant and sustainable local economy. Goodwill KYOWVA wanted to make the fair more expansive and inclusive event involving more community partners and expand the interest, reach and involvement by providing education and options available to people in the area to increase ways to live a more sustainable lifestyle.

Goodwill® Valentine’s Date Night

Like a lot of parents of young kids, we don’t get out a whole lot. When you’re on a tight budget that includes monthly childcare that costs more than your mortgage, it’s hard to justify hiring a sitter for just about anything. But as Valentine’s Day approaches and cold, wintry nights take hold, we decided to made an exception to our normal rule.
