New Recycling Center Opens in Mobile, AL
On November 20, the Mobile County Recycling Center opened its doors to the public in Alabama. This project will provide residents with an attractive facility at which they can drop off their recyclable material. Goodwill Easter Seals of the Gulf Coast (Mobile) will operate and manage the facility with between four to eight staff and many volunteers.

Goodwill Industries of Northern Michigan (GINM) (Traverse City) recently garnered national attention for its community-based job training program, Farm to Freezer, that flash freezes produce from local farms in Northern Michigan. Current program leader, Mark Coe, who originally worked for a nearby farm, came up with the idea in 2013.

After my accident, I was unable to work for several years. In November 2012, I felt like it was time for me to go back to work, so I came back to Goodwill to see if I could get a job. The agency hired me to be a cashier in one of the Goodwill retail stores, and a couple of months later, I was employed at the Barksdale Air Force Base Commissary as a shelf stocker.
