Right now, plenty of graduates are preparing to embark on an exciting new path. This turning point brings nervousness, high hopes, and, sadly, it often also means a lack of funds. Did you know that 86 percent of women own at least one pair of shoes that they’ve never worn? That statistic is astounding! What’s worse – and I’m a little ashamed to admit this – is that I am one of those women. The allure of fancy feet draws me in more often than I care to admit, but still I rotate through the same five pairs and just stare at the rest while a guilty dialog runs through my head.
Do you know what my favorite thing about Goodwill is? Well, other than their mission, of course. My favorite thing, after their dedication to providing services that enable people from all backgrounds to obtain and maintain economic independence and an increased quality of life, is the fact that I can find pretty much anything I’m looking for in their stores. Goodwill is the ultimate one stop shopping experience. They have everything!
Although it isn’t officially summer yet, it certainly feels like it. But during these early warm months, a day of rain can really interrupt those long-awaited outdoor plans. I feel particularly annoyed when there is a streak of beautiful weather during the week and then, when my day off rolls around, it’s dreary. To combat those rainy day blues, I’ve thought up some ways to bring the outdoors in and fill my time with summer vibes even if I can’t actually be outside (well, without getting drenched, that is).
This Sunday will be my first Mother’s Day as a mom and my new perspective has me looking at the years ahead. I imagine the man I hope my two-month-old will grow up to be: a kind, responsible, and loving person who honestly enjoys his time with me. If your mom is anything like I am, there are the three things she’ll want most this Mother’s Day.

One of the things I love most about shopping at Goodwill® is the way it encourages me to think outside of the box. I always try to keep an open mind about the items that grace Goodwill’s aisles, and it looks like I’m not alone! Today I’ve got a great collection of refashions from others who, like me, try not to feel limited by the intended purpose or look of an item.
Where I live in New Hampshire, it’s finally warm enough to spend long periods of time outside! The ice is disappearing from our lakes, birds are chirping, and drab fields are gaining an ever-so-faint tint of green. We’ve waited long enough, so I’m about ready to dive head first into my outdoor adventures. Join me for the perfect day outside, won’t you?
