I work with the Office of the Secretary. I’m starting a new project called Disability Mentoring Day where we have meetings every month. The students who don’t have a job follow me or someone else around in a job. I spoke two months ago about my journey to appointment—what does it take. They have a transitioning conference, and other people were like, “I would like to learn more information about Alyssa.”

Approximately 200 athletes with developmental disabilities took to the turf along with players from The Ohio State University football team and former NFL players for a scarlet-and-gray-style football clinic hosted by Goodwill Columbus (OH).

During my sophomore year of high school, I sat down with my career counselor, and she asked me, “What do you want to do?” I told her, “I don’t know.” She asked me, “What do you like to do?” I said, ever since I was little, I liked to put things together and take things apart. She said, “Well, that sounds an awful lot like a mechanic or an engineer.”
Today we are asking you to join Goodwill in our efforts to help people with disabilities around the world receive equal treatment in accessing these same services. Take action and urge your Senators to support U.S. ratification of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).

Goodwill Industries of Michiana (South Bend, IN) has partnered with local fabricators to give granite new life. Richard LeCount, the industrial services supervisor at the plant where the Goodwill Rocks! products are produced, is co-leading the project. Following incerceration, he began working for the Goodwill and hopes to show people how the agency has made a difference in his life
